Verses 1-2

  • Titus… who was he?

    •   a trusted assistant of the Apostles  

    •   a Gentile   

    •   Paul's Convert

    • 2 Cor. 7:6, 7… 8:6, 16, 23… also 7:13-14

    •   assisted Paul on his missionary journeys

      • Not mentioned in Acts 11:30… does not mean he: wasn't there

        • Not officially sent, invited by Paul

      • Paul’s 2nd trip to Jerusalem was because of a revelation 2:2

        • “Remember the poor” (v.10) = keep on remembering

  • Paul presented the gift (Acts 11:30)... what else does he do on this visit?

    • He presents his gospel

Q. Was Paul unsure of his message and looking for confirmation?

  1.    the context of Galatians says no

  2.    he wouldn't have waited that long to return to Jerusalem (would have needed confirmation sooner)

  3. “set before them” = to impart, to communicate with a view to consultation
